Study on the Features of Mental Consultation Needs in Undergraduates

Objective To compare the difference of mental consultation needs among undergraduates from diferent gender,background and grade.Methods Based on plentiful interview,five hundred undergraduates were questioned with the questionnaire of the mental consultation needs.Results ①There were no differences between male and female（t=0.28,P〈0.05）,but there was significant differences how to make friends with opposite sex（t=0.31,P〈0.05）,②There were no differences between the city and the country（t=0.39,P〉0.05）,but there were significant differences from how to study（t=0.83,P〈0.05）,how to communiate（t=0.51,P〈0.05）and how to make friends with opposite sex（t=0.51,P〈0.05）;③There were significant differences between different grades（F=3.85,P〈0.05）and how to make friends with opposite sex（F=5.39,P〈0.05）.Conclusion Males should be given more specific guidance on how to make friends with opposite sex,;students from the country should be given more on how to study,how to communicate and how to make friends with opposite sex.University counseling should be paid special attention to the students of different grades,and graduates are the focus of the psychological counseling.
