Application and advances of artificial intelligence in orthodontics
Abstract:
With the emergence of new algorithms and the improvement of computing power, the accuracy, repeatability and computational efficiency of artificial intelligence is gradually enhanced. It makes artificial intelligence more widely used in medical specialties and becoming one hotspot of research. At present, artificial intelligence is mainly used in automated cephalometric analysis of X-ray film and CBCT, intelligent diagnosis of skeletal classification and growth period, treatment plan formulation, and clinical operation assistance in orthodontics. This article reviews application methods, problems and research direction of artificial intelligence in orthodontics from the above four aspects.
