Clinical Research of Left Ventricle Remodeling in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes

[Objective] To explore the effect of diabetes mellitus（DM） on heart remodeling. [Methods]Totally 136 DM patients（DM group） and 90 healthy controls（control group） were selected. Blood pressure, height, weight, blood glucose and lipids were measured. Ultrasonic eardiography（UCG） was used to measure left ventricular end-diastolic diameter（LVD）, left ventrieular posterior wall（LVPW） and interventrieular septal thickness （IVS） to evaluate left ventricle structure. [Results]There was no significant difference in LVD, IVS and R-wave threshold（RWT） between DM group and control group（ P〉0.05）. LVPW, left ventricle mass（LVM） and left ventricle mass index（LVMI） in DM group were higher than those in control group, and there was significant difference（P〈0.05）. In DM group, the prevalence of left ventricle hypertropby（LVH） was 5. 88%（8/136） which was higher than that in control group （2 = 5. 177, P = 0. 025）.
