Preliminary Study on Humanistic Thought in Huangdi's Canon of Medicine

Humanistic thought is human-oriented and people-centered. China has the tradition of humanistic thought from time immemorial. Humanistic thought is an essential character of traditional Chinese culture. Huangdi＇s Canon of Medicine, as a masterpiece of Chinese medicine theories, reflects humanistic thought. This paper explains humanistic thought of Huangdi＇s Canon of Medicine in view of life, diagnosis and treatment and health-cultivation. And from humanistic thought in Huangdi＇s Canon of Medicine, we can see that it emphasizes human life and conserving human life. Moreover, the paper points out that conserving life is a basic idea in Huangdi＇s Canon of Medicine.
