| Abstract: | Endocrinological and morphological studies of the effect of Chinese made Megestrol Ac-etate Silicone Rubber Vaginal Rings(MSVR)on women were carried out.The aim of the study is to in-vestigate the blood megestrol acetate(MA) concentration and its possible antifertility mechanism.Ninevolunteers aged 27-35 were recruited in the study.All the subjects were bearing the MSVR for morethan 3 months of investigation.The results showed that MSVR could suppress I.H, Ez,P levels to acertain extent,but would not influence the PRL concentration.It also interfered with the normal devel-opment of the ultrastructure of the glandular cells.It indicates that MSVR acts on the reproductive hor-mone level and the endornetrial development,which can be considered as one of the irnportant mecha-nisms of its antifertilrty action. |
