| Abstract: | Objective To reduce the average time that patients spend in hospital and to save the hospitalization costs via the establishment of pre-admission consultation office. Methods A number of patients are conducted routine examination in pre-admission consultation office by the nurse before they are hospitalized. Results the patients who are conducted routine examination in pre-admission consultation officespend 8 days in hospital, while those who are not conducted such examination spend 13.6 days. Conclusions The establishment of the pre-admission consultation office helps to enhance the management of nursing care in Outpatient department, to reduce the time that patients spend in hospital, to improve efficiency and to save hospitalization costs for patients. |
