Complete amino acid sequence of fin whale growth hormone

The complete amino acid sequence of growth hormone from fin whale pituitary has been determined. It consists of 190 amino acid residues with two disulfide bridges formed by residues 52–163 and 180–188. The sequence identity with sei whale, bovine, ovine and human growth hormone is 90%, 91%, 90% and 68%, respectively.
