中国传统爱国主义的"文化土壤"

中国古代国家形成过程中产生的以土地为基础、以家族为核心的封闭内向型"农业宗法"式社会结构,造就了中国民族文化迥异于其他民族文化的特质.这种文化特质是中国传统爱国主义形成的"文化土壤".它在自然观上,强调"天人合一";在政治观上,强调"大一统";在伦理观上,强调"群体意识";在历史观上,有浓厚的民本主义色彩;在民族性格方面,主张贵刚尊阳.这些特质对中国传统爱国主义产生了积极的影响.但中国传统文化封闭、狭隘、保守的一面,也导致中国传统爱国主义范围上的狭隘性、内容上的单一性和形式上的盲目性,带来了一些负面效应.继承和发展其积极影响,批判和克服其消极影响,是我们在进行爱国主义教育时应该重视的问题.

The "Cultural Soil" for Chinese Traditional Patriotism

With a mode of "agricultural patriarch", the closed and endocentric social structure of ancient China was based on the land and regarded the clan as its core, which embodied Chinese culture peculiarity different from other nations. The peculiarity was the "cultural soil" for Chinese traditional patriotism. In aspects of conception of nature, politics, moral principles and history, it emphasized individually on the theory that man is an integral part of nature, great unity in the world, individual morality and deep consciousness of taking people as base of the nation. In aspects of national characteristics, it attached importance to strength and "yang"-the masculine principle in nature. These features produced a positive effect on the formation of Chinese traditional patriotism. Meanwhile, the fact that Chinese traditional culture was partly closed, parochial and conservative also led to some negative effect on patriotism, causing the parochialism in scope, singleness in content, and blindness in style.
