Abstract:Compared with the past decades, the survival rate of malignant bone tumors has improved significantly. But there are still thorny problems that plague orthopedic surgeons. The repair of bone defect is one of the complex problems after tumor resection. Some materials, including allogeneic bone, have solved the repair of bone defects, but these materials still have shortcomings. Previous materials have only the function of repairing defects.In recent years, scholars have explored multifunctional biological materials, including hydroxyapatite, chitosan calcium phosphate, polylactic acid-hydroxyacetic acid,and so on. This article reviews the new progress of both repairing bone defect and inhibiting tumor recurrence.
