Injuries to the middle third of the face

Fractures and injuries to the middle face present a multiplicity of problems which must be treated from the point of view that, insofar as is possible, the facial function and appearance of the patient must be restored. Because of the complexities arising from such injuries, many methods are being used. It is the opinion of the author that the best results are obtained when such injuries are treated by the simplest methods, and there is sufficient planning for the repair of such injuries by as few operative procedures as possible.
