Abstract: | Summary The combined action of hyperthermia and Bleomycin on Aspergillus nidulans was studied at three different levels: mycelial protein synthesis, spore viability and induction of mutations. It was found that Bleomycin treatment of preincubated mycelia during the heat shock enhances the incorporation of 35S-methionine into heat shock bands. Furthermore, simultaneous treatment with hyperthermia (43°C) and Bleomycin results in greater cytotoxic activity in spores and in a higher induction rate of point mutations. |
