Intrapleural mitoxantrone for the palliative treatment of malignant pleural effusions |

| Abstract: | A group of 21 patients with malignant pleural effusions were treated with the instillation of 40 mg mitoxantrone intrapleurally, after complete fluid drainage. There was a 100% complete response rate with no toxic effects (0%). The mean survival of the patients was 57.1 weeks. |
