Investigation and Analysis of the Status Quo of Continuing Education for Nurses in Dongguan

Objective To investigate the status and needs of continuing education for nurses in Dongguan,analyze the influencing factors of nurses’ participation in continuing education,and study the improvement countermeasures and measures to promote nurses’ participation in continuing education.Methods An online questionnaire survey was conducted among nurses in Dongguan City using a selfdesigned questionnaire through cluster sampling.The content included the basic situation of the respondent,the status quo of continuing education,continuing education needs and influencing factors,and the satisfaction survey.Results 7 724 valid questionnaires were retrieved,2.96% for males and 97.04% for females;78.16% of nursing staff considered it necessary to participate in continuing education;56.24% of nursing staff participated in continuing education less than twice a month;80.52% of nursing staff passed Participate in continuing education in the form of online learning;84.24%of nursing staff participated in continuing education and learning because of the improvement of business skills and work ability;88.84% of nursing staff’s influencing factors were mainly engineering contradictions;the main demand for continuing education and learning was to improve ability(88.35 %);willing to participate in continuing education content is mainly specialized nursing knowledge and operational skills(86.95%);learning methods tend to network training(88.79%);nurses believe that enhancing the effectiveness of training content is conducive to mobilizing enthusiasm(82.56%);The overall satisfaction of training is 88.45%.Conclusion Nurses in Dongguan have a high overall demand for continuing education and learning,but they are generally motivated to learn.It is necessary to further improve the city’s continuing education management,optimize the continuing education learning process,scientifically and rationally arrange training content,and improve the participation of nurses in continuing education.Initiative.
