| Abstract: | Pulmonary vein isolation(PVI) is the cornerstone of catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation(AF), which has a good effect on paroxysmal AF. But it is less effective in patients with persistent AF. Adjuvant ablation strategies other than PVI can improve the surgical success rate of persistent AF. The left atrial appendage is not only a common source of intracardiac thrombosis, but also a factor in the occurrence or maintenance of atrial tachyarrhythmias. Therefore, left atrial appendage electrical isolation has become one of the ablation strategies for persistent AF. Studies have shown that it may help to improve the surgical success rate of persistent AF. This paper reviews the research progress of left atrial appendage electrical isolation. |
