Optical Resolution of 1-Amino-2,3-Propanediol

The optical resolution of (R,S)-1-amino-2,3-propanediol was carried out in water with (S)(+)- and (R)(?)-2-(6-methoxy-2-naphthyl)propanoic acid according to Marckwald but using half the quantity of the optically active acid, the other half being constituted by hydrochloric acid.
