Evaluation for clinical value of needle biopsy in superficial metastatic lymph nodes guided by contrast-enhanced ultrasonograph

Objective To analyze the clinical application of needle biopsy in superficial metastatic lymph nodes guided by contrast-enhanced ultrasonograph.Methods Contrast-enhanced ultrasonograph of superficial lymph node were underwent in 32 patients with cancer history,followed by needle biopsy and histological examination,and region of puncture was based on the micro-perfusion of the lymph node.The biopsy achievement ratio and accurate diagnosis were analyzed.Results 32 lymphadenopathy included 26 metastatic lymph nodes and 6 benign nodes from which 2 more metastatic lymph nodes were found by operational biopsy,with the biopsy achievement ratio and accurate diagnosis ratio 100% and 92.8%,respectively.Conclusion Needle biopsy in superficial metastatic lymph nodes guided by contrast-enhanced ultrasonograph may improve the biopsy achievement ratio and accurate diagnosis ratio as well as reducing the number of puncture and the risk of operational biopsy,getting the good clinical value and social benefits.
