Inter-mouse strain differences in macrophage function and its relationship to antibody responses

Macrohage function, as measured by carbon clearance, differs in different inbred strains. Low affinity (K_R) antibody response to HST is associated either with poor carbon clearance, or slow recovery from carbon blockade by macrophages.
