Study on the Correlation Between NT-proBNP and Prognosis of Patients with Acute Exacerbation of COPD

Objective To analyze the correlation between N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide(NT-proBNP)and prognosis of patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD).Methods The clinical data of 60 patients with AECOPD admitted to our hospital from March 2018 to March 2020 were retrospectively analyzed.All cases were divided into good group(n=35)and poor group(n=25)according to the prognosis.The levels of NT-proBNP of two groups were compared,and the correlation between NT-proBNP and the prognosis of AECOPD patients was analyzed.Results In the poor group,the NT-proBNP levels at admission and 120 h after admission showed no statistical difference(P>0.05);In the good group,the NT-proBNP level at 120 h after admission was significantly lower than that at admission(P<0.05);At admission and 120 h after admission,the good group had significantly lower NT-proBNP level than the poor group(P<0.05).Linear regression equation(Y=2.290+0.001X)indicated that NT-proBNP was closely related to the prognosis of patients with AECOPD(P<0.05).The ROC curve showed that the AUC and sensitivity of NT-proBNP for predicting adverse outcomes in patients with AECOPD at 30 days were 0.860 and 0.960 respectively.Conclusions The level of NT-proBNP is closely related to the prognosis of patients with AECOPD,and continuous detection of NT-proBNP level can effectively predict the prognosis of patients with AECOPD.
