Progress of vertical semicircular canal function examination and its application prospect in military pilots

Objective To review vertical semicircular canal function examination methods and its application prospect in military pilots.Literature resource and selection Research papers and reviews in this field.Literature quotation Twenty-five papers and reviews published home and abroad were cited.Literature synthesis Five frequently used vertical semicircular canal function examination methods and its application in military pilots were analyzed and summarized.Conclusions Rotational test,head thrust test,caloric test,perception of rotation test and active head rotational testing are five clinically frequently used vertical semicircular canal function examination methods now,and these five methods will play an increasingly important role in comprehensive assessment of vestibular function in military pilots.
