肝星状细胞(hepatic stellate cells,HSC),曾被称为Ito细胞、窦周细胞、脂细胞和贮脂细胞.由德国学者Kupffer在1876年首先用氯化金染色确认,称之为sternzellen,当时曾被误认为是一种肝内吞噬细胞.1951年,Ito用电镜观察将窦周HSC与窦内Kupffer细胞(肝吞噬细胞)予以清楚鉴别.1996年国际上将该细胞统一命名为HSC[1].
