| Abstract: | Objective:To explore the effect of sleeve gastrectomy(SG)and esophagoduodenostomy with complete gastrectomy(EDCG)on glucose metabolism in rat models with obesity and type 2 diabetes.Methods:Successfully modeled rats with obesity and type 2 diabetes were randomly divided into three groups and underwent sham surgery,SG and EDCG respectively.Body weight,food intake,fasting glucose and insulin resistance were monitored every two weeks after surgery.Oral glucose tolerance test was performed preoperatively and 8 weeks postoperatively.Results:Eighteen rats were successfully modeled and randomly divided into three groups.One rat in the EDCG group died of anastomotic leakage after the operation,and the remaining rats survived well.The body weight of the rats in the SG group decreased progressively after the operation.Contrarily,the weight of rats in the Sham group and the EDCG group gradually rebounded after decrease.8 weeks postoperatively,both the SG group and the EDCG group had decreased fasting glucose,glucose tolerance and insulin resistance index compared with the Sham group,and the SG group was better than the EDCG group.Conclusions:SG has a better improvement in glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity than EDCG in rat with obesity and type 2 diabetes. |
