Abstract: | ![]() We described a case of thymic carcinoma that responded remarkably to combined chemotherapy with etoposide (ETP), ifosfamide (IFO) and nedaplatin. A 68-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital because of hoarseness and dysphasia. Chest computed tomographic (CT) scans showed an anterior mediastinal tumor. Using CT-guided needle biopsy, the diagnosis was squamous cell type of thymic carcinoma. We gave her modified VIP therapy with ETP, IFO and nedaplatin. The tumor contraction response was evident after 3 courses of treatment. This case suggested that nedaplatin may be one of the promising agents for thymic carcinoma chemotherapy. |
