Clinical effect of autologous platelet-rich plasma in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis

Objective To explore the clinical effect of autologous platelet-rich plasma in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.Methods Eighty patients with knee osteoarthritis were selected as the research objects and randomly divided into control group and observation group according to odd-even number,with 40 cases in each group.The control group was treated with intraarticular injection of sodium hyaluronate,and the observation group was treated with autologous platelet-rich plasma.The therapeutic effect of the two groups was compared.Results After 12 weeks of treatment,Lysholm score and range of motion of knee joint in the observation group were better than those in the control group(P<0.05).After 2 and 12 weeks of treatment,the VAS scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).After 12 weeks of treatment,the levels of SP,5-HT,PGE2,IL-1βand TNF-αin the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Autologous platelet-rich plasma is effective in the treatment of patients with knee osteoarthritis.
