| Abstract: | Changes in the relative mass of kidney and in the mitotic activity in cortex and medulla are compared in nephrectomized rats under the valley and high altitude conditions. The rate of compensatory processes is lower at high altitudes than in the valley. At high altitudes, kidney hypertrophy and mitotic activity of kidney cells are decreased.
