Abstract: | ![]() This study was conducted using an innovative mode of heuristic inquiry within the context of Newman's theory of health as expanding consciousness. Twelve caregiving families of persons who were diagnosed with schizophrenia participated in the study. In accordance with Newman's theory of health as praxis, the majority of the participants in the study recognized their patterns of the whole. As a result, they reported understanding and acceptance of their relative's mental illness. |
