A Discussion on Basic Methods,Priorities and Working Mechanisms of Modern Study of Fundamental Theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine

In the modem study of the fundamental theories of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) the scientific laws of TCM itself should be adhered to and the methods and thinking modes used in the exploration of modern sciences be assimilated, having them melted into the original study methods and thinking modes of TCM and formed as the methods that aresuitable to the development of TCM theories and science. The standardization, the viscera - state theory, the theory of etiology, the theory of syndromes, the theory of main and collateral channels and the models of experimental animals in the system of modern fundamental theories of TCM constitute the priorities of the study of TCM fundamental theories while the enhancement of scientific understanding, the strengthening of financial input, the stability of personnel contingent and the establishment of open bases and the organs of expert consultation of basic study are the working mechanisms for the guarantee of the study of TCM fundamental theories.
