Effect of Insulin Glargine Combined With Sitagliptin on Poorly Treated Elderly Patients With Type 2 Diabetes

Objective To discuss the efficacy of insulin glargine combined with sitagliptin in the treatment of poorly controlled elderly type 2 diabetes with oral hypoglycemic agents.Methods This study selected 50 elderly patients with type 2 diabetes who were treated in our hospital from February 2019 to May 2020 due to poor control of oral hypoglycemic drugs.The patients were divided into control group(25 cases)and study group(25 cases)by double-blind method.The evaluation criteria were:efficacy,blood glucose,islet function and inflammatory factors.Results The effective rate of 96%in the study group was higher than 72%in the control group,P<0.05.There was no significant difference in blood glucose before intervention,P>0.05;the blood glucose of the study group was lower than that of the control group after intervention,P<0.05.There was no significant difference in islet function before intervention,P>0.05;the islet function of study group was lower than that of control group after intervention,P<0.05.There was no significant difference in inflammatory factors before intervention,P>0.05;the inflammatory factors in the study group were lower than those in the control group after intervention,P<0.05.Conclusion nsulin glargine combined with sitagliptin has a good therapeutic effect on elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus,which is not well controlled by oral hypoglycemic drugs.It is conducive to effectively stabilize the blood glucose level of patients,improve their islet function,and reduce the level of inflammatory factors.
