Comparison of the effects of internal fixation with locking compression plate and anatomical plate on fracture reduction and limb function in patients with Pilon fracture

Objective To compare the effects of internal fixation with locking compression plate and anatomical plate on fracture reduction and limb function in patients with Pilon fracture.Methods Forty patients with Pilon fracture were divided into control group(n=20,anatomical plate internal fixation)and observation group(n=20,locking compression plate internal fixation).The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared.Results The excellent and good rate of treatment of the observation group was slightly higher than that of the control group(P>0.05).The Burwell-Charnley and Lane-Sandhu scores of the observation group at 1 month and 3 months after operation were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Three months after operation,Lysholm scores of the two groups were significantly higher than those before operation,and that of the observation group was higher than the control group(P<0.05).The total incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with anatomical plate internal fixation,locking compression plate internal fixation for Pilon fracture is more conducive to fracture reduction and healing and joint function recovery,with less postoperative complications,which is worthy of promotion.
