Correlation analysis of self-efficacy with anxiety,depression and quality of life in middle-aged and elderly patients with breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy

Objective To explore the status of self-efficacy in middle-aged and elderly patients with breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy,and analyze its correlation with anxiety,depression and quality of life.Methods Convenient sampling method was used to select 217 middle-aged and elderly patients with breast cancer who received chemotherapy in the oncology department of four Grade-A hospitals in Hengyang city from September 2019 to February 2020.General information questionnaire was used to collect the basic information of the patients.The Chinese version of cancer self-efficacy scale,self-rating anxiety scale,self-rating depression scale and functiond assessment of cancer therapy-breast were used to evaluate the levels of the self-efficacy,anxiety,depression and quality of life of the patients.Results A total of 217 valid questionnaires were collected in this survey.The total score of self-efficacy of patients was(83.38±22.15)points.The total score of self-efficacy of patients were negatively correlated with anxiety and depression(r=-0.179,0.176,P<0.01)and positively correlated with quality of life(r=0.235,P<0.01).Conclusion The self-efficacy of middle-aged and elderly patients with breast cancer chemotherapy is in the middle level,which is related to their psychological state and quality of life,clinical staff should pay attention to improving patients'self-efficacy.
