Effects of extended nursing on survival time and quality of life of patients with lung cancer after operation

Objective To explore the effects of extended nursing on survival time and quality of life of lung cancer patients after operation.Methods A total of 90 patients with lung cancer admitted in our hospital from March 2016 to March 2018 were selected as the research objects and divided into control group and experimental group according to different nursing methods,with 45 cases in each group.The control group received routine nursing,and the experimental group received extended nursing on the basis of the control group.The nursing effect of the two groups was compared.Results The median survival time was 6.55 months in the experimental group and 4.98 months in the control group,and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05,RR=1.209,95%CI=0.728-1.236).Before discharge,there was no significant difference in the score of psychological distress between the two groups(P>0.05);during follow-up,the score of psychological distress in the experimental group was lower than that before discharge and in the control group(P<0.05).Before discharge,there were no significant differences in the scores of physical function,role function,emotional function,cognitive function and social function between the two groups(P>0.05);during follow-up,the scores of physical function,role function,emotional function,cognitive function and social function of the two groups were higher than those before discharge,and those of the experimental group were higher than the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Extended nursing is the continuation and supplement of inpatient nursing for lung cancer patients.Although it can not significantly prolong the long-term survival time of patients,but can effectively improve the quality of life of patients.
