Abstract: | This is a report of a single case of morning glory syndrome. The morning glory syndrome is a rare congenital optic disc anomaly which has received scant attention in the ophthalmologic literature. The aetiology of the disorder remains controversial, although it would appear to be related to an isolated coloboma of the optic nerve. The association between morning glory syndrome and a variety of ocular (most notably non-rhegmatogenous retinal detachment) and systemic defects makes its recognition and correct management important; this is discussed in some detail. |
