The effects of nickel-titanium(NiTi)instruments combined with ultrasonic irrigation in root canal therapy of primary molars

Objective:To evaluate the clinical effects of NiTi instruments combined with ultrasonic irrigation on root canal therapy of primary molars.Methods:60 primary molars in 51 children with acute and chronic pulpitis,were randomly divided into 3 groups(S,M and K,n=20).NiTi instruments with different taper combined with ultrasonic irrigation were used in group S and M,while Stainless steel K file combined with injection irrigation for Group K.Clinical evaluation was made according to the endodontic interappointment pain(EIAP),the time of root canal preparation and treatment,and filling effect of X-ray film.Results:There was no significant difference in the incidence of EIAP and filling effect of X-ray film among the 3 groups(P>0.05).While The time of root canal preparation and treatment time in group S and group M was significantly shorter than that in Group K(P<0.05).Conclusion:NiTi instruments combined with ultrasonic irrigation in root canal treatment of primary molars can improve the treatment efficiency.
