| Abstract: | A new bacteriohopanoid, bacteriohopanehexol was isolated from the marine sponge Petrosia sp., and its structure 1a was established on the basis of the NMR and MS spectroscopic data of its hexaacetate derivative 1b. Bacteriohopanehexol is most likely a bacterial metabolite. |
