Effects of emergency nursing intervention on psychological state and nutritional indicators in cancer patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding

Objective To investigate the effects of emergency nursing intervention on the psychological state and nutritional indicators in cancer patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Methods Ninety cancer patients with upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage were selected at Maritime Police Hospital between June 2018 and June 2021. They were categorized into an observation group and a control group using a random number table with 45 patients in each group. The observation group was given emergency nursing intervention and the control group was given conventional nursing intervention. The nursing effect,satisfaction,nutritional indicators and negative emotions were compared between the two groups after the intervention. Results The overall efficacy rate of nursing care after intervention was 97. 8% in the observation group,which was higher than 86. 7% of the control group(P < 0. 05). Compared with before the intervention,serum hemoglobin(HB),albumin(ALB) and prealbumin(PAB) decreased in the two groups after the intervention and these levels were higher in the observation group than in the control group(all P <0. 05). The scores of depression and anxiety decreased in both groups and the scores were lower in the observation group than in the control group(all P < 0. 05). Patient satisfaction with nursing 91. 1% in the observation group,which was higher than that 73. 3% of the control group(P < 0. 05). Conclusion Emergency nursing intervention has a good nursing effect in cancer patients with upper gastrointestinal bleeding.It helps to relieve negative emotions such as anxiety and depression and improve nutritional status,nursing effect and patient satisfaction.
