Research Progress of Chinese Medicine Delaying Progress of Bone Erosion in Rheumatoid Arthritis

Traditional Chinese medicine has the significant curing effect in delaying the bone erosion process of rheumatoid arthritis(RA).It has the advantages of multiple functions,multiple pathways,and multiple targets.It can delay and prevent RA bone erosion by inhibiting T cell activation,interfering with inflammatory cytokines,blocking intracellular signal pathways,regulating the proliferation and differentiation of osteoclasts.However,existing researches are lacked systematic discussion on the important stage of Chinese medicine delaying the process of RA bone erosion,the researches on the mechanism,pathway,and target of the effective ingredients of Chinese medicine need to be strengthened,and the basic researches are lack depth and the clinical research sample size is insufficient.Therefore,it is necessary to further strengthen basic theoretical research in the future,based on related signal pathways,cytokine/chemokine system axis,and cell-cell interactions,and combining with modern scientific theories and technologies,strengthen the targeted analysis and experimental verification of the effects and mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine and its active ingredients on RA bone erosion,and extensively establish the experimental animal models consistent with TCM diseases.
