An Analysis of Point Selection Law of Acupuncture and Moxibustion in the Treatment of Erectile Dysfunction Based on Data Mining Technology

Objective:To summarize the acupoint selection law of acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of erectile dysfunction(ED)in order to provide a broader clinical idea for acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of ED in the future.Methods:The literature on acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of ED in CNKI,Wanfang Data knowledge service platform,VIP and Pubmed were searched by computer.The retrieval period was from the establishment of the database to October 20,2019.Data mining technology was used to explore the acupoint selection law in acupuncture and moxibustion treatment of ED.Results:A total of 22 research literature was included and 44 acupuncture and moxibustion formulas were obtained.A total of 9 literature involved syndrome differentiation,which could be summarized as the following 8 syndrome types:downpour of dampness-heat,life gate fire failure,liver depression and qi stagnation,deficiency of heart and spleen,fright and fear injuring the kidney,deficiency of kidney yin(essence),excess of fire due to yin deficiency and obstruction of collaterals by blood stasis.The location of ED was closely related to the kidney,liver,heart and spleen.The pathogenesis was divided into deficiency and excess.Deficiency syndromes mainly included deficiency of kidney yang,deficiency of kidney yin(essence)and deficiency of heart and spleen.Excess syndromes mainly included downpour of dampness-heat,liver depression and qi stagnation,blood stasis blocking collaterals.A total of 56 acupoints were involved,including 46 ones of twelve meridians and 10 ones of GV and CV.The acupoints that were applied more than 10 times were Guanyuan(BL 26),Sanyinjiao(SP 6),Shenshu(BL 23),Taichong(LV 3),Taixi(KI 3),Qihai(BL 24),Zusanli(ST 36),Ciliao(BL 32)and Mingmen(DU 4).The meridians used more than 20 times included the bladder meridian foot greater yang,CV,the spleen meridian of foot greater yin,the liver meridian of foot reverting yin,and the kidney meridian of foot lesser yin.The specific points used frequently were five transport points,crossing points and back transport points.A total of 7 of the top 10 points were specific points.The commonly-used five transport points were Taichong(LV 3),Taixi(KI 3),and Zusanli(ST 36).The commonly-used crossing points were Guanyuan(BL 26),Sanyinjiao(SP 6),and Zhongji(RN 3).The commonly-used back transport points were Shenshu(BL 23)and Ganshu(BL 18).The points were distributed in lower limbs,waist,back,abdomen and upper limbs.The most commonly-used points for the treatment of ED included Guanyuan(BL 26),Sanyinjiao(SP 6),Taichong(LV 3),Qihai(BL 24),and Shenshu(BL 23).Through cluster analysis,7 new acupuncture and and moxibustion formulas were obtained:(1)Ganshu(BL 18)-Zhongfeng(LV 4)-Ligou(LV 5)-Shenmen(HT 7)-Huiyang(BL 35);(2)Ciliao(BL 32)-Qugu(RN 2)-Yinlian(LV 11)-Huiyang(BL 35);(3)Yinlingquan(SP 9)-Baihuanyu(BL 30)-Taixi(KI 3)-Huiyang(BL 35);(4)Zusanli(ST 36)-Zhongliao(BL 33)-Qihai(BL 24)-Shangliao(BL 31);(5)Qugu(RN 2)-Taixi(KI 3)-Changqiang(DU 1)-Huiyang(BL 35);(6)Sanyinjiao(SP 6)-Guanyuan(BL 26)-Zhibian(BL 54)-Guanyuanshu(BL 26);(7)Shenmen(HT 7)-Qihaishu(BL 24)-Neiguan(PC 6)-Zhongji(RN 3).Conclusion:Acupuncture and moxibustion is often used to treat ED.The points of the bladder meridian of foot greater yang are selected.Those transport points with"near therapeutic effect"and those with"far therapeutic effect"and"special effect"are often selected,and the most commonly-used ones are Guanyuan(BL 26),Sanyinjiao(SP 6),Taichong(LV 3),Qihai(BL 24)and Shenshu(BL 23).
