The Influence of Heaven-Human-Earth Acupuncture on the Frequency and Duration of Hiccup in Patients with Intractable Hiccup After Stroke

Objective:To observe the influence of Heaven-Human-Earth acupuncture on the frequency and duration of hiccup in patients with intractable hiccup after stroke.Methods:A total of 70 patients with hiccup after stroke were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group,with 35 cases in each group.Both groups were given basic treatment,then the experimental group was additionally given Heaven-Human-Earth acupuncture,while the control group was additionally given general acupuncture.Results:After treatment,the frequency,duration,onset time and course of treatment of hiccup in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group,and all the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The scores of hiccup degree,spirit and sleep state in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group,and all the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The effective rate of the experimental group was 91.4%which was better than that of the control group:74.2%.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Heaven-Human-Earth acupuncture is effective in the treatment of intractable hiccup after stroke,can reduce the frequency and duration of hiccup.
