Research on Water Model Reasoning of Huang Di Nei Jing

Modelling reasoning refers to a thinking method that uses models, especially thinking models, as an intermediary or tool and deduces conclusions from one or several premises. Due to the limitation of its historical conditions, a large quantity of natural physical models are chosen for progressive reasoning in Huang Di Nei Jing(《黄帝内经》Yellow Emperor’s Internal Classic). Water is closely related to human life and naturally becomes the most common natural model for human beings to understand things and even human life activities. In this study, it expounds the relationship between water model and circulation of blood and qi in meridians, construction of the twelve meridians system, understanding of six pathogenic factors, pathogenesis of qi, blood, body fluid and related clinical diagnosis and treatment thinking in Huang Di Nei Jing, pointing out that the natural modeling reasoning in Huang Di Nei Jing is intuitive, empirical, functional, non-structural, holographic and time-sequential.
