Analysis of advantages and disadvantages of topical tacrolimus in treatment of erosive oral lichen planus

Oral lichen planus（OLP） is a common chronic inflammatory disease of the oral mueosa. Some of erosive OLP pa- tients show resistance or even invalidity to glucoeortieoid therapy. As a topical immunosuppressive agent, tacrolimus ointment treatment of intractable erosive OLP has been demonstrated to have some effective, but scholars also identified some notable problems. In this pa- per, the pros and cons of topical tacrolimus treatment of erosive 0LP will be analyzed. It could provide a reference to clinicians for a more rational application of such formulations.
