| Abstract: | Two new alkaloidal glycosides, canthin-6-one-5-o-beta-D-xylopyranosyl- (1 --> 6)-beta-D-glucopyranoside (1) and canthin-6-one-1-o-beta-D-xylopyranosyl- (1 --> 6)-beta-D-glucopyranoside (2) named ailantcanthinosides A and B, were isolated from the root bark of Ailanthus altissima. Their structures were elucidated by one-and two-dimensional (1)H NMR, (13)C NMR, FAB-MS, HRESI-MS spectra and chemical methods. |
