Effect of apatinib combined with chemotherapy on serum tumor markers and quality of life in patients with advanced gastric cancer

Objective To observe the effect of apatinib combined with chemotherapy on serum tumor markers and quality of life in patients with advanced gastric cancer.Methods A total of 50 patients with advanced gastric cancer were divided into experimental group and control group,with 25 cases in each group.The experimental group was treated with apatinib and chemotherapy,and the control group was treated with chemotherapy.The short-term effects,quality of life and serum tumor marker levels were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of treatment in the experimental group was 60.00%,which was higher than 32.00%in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the mental status,social functioning,somatic pain,physical functioning scores of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the carbohydrate antigen 125(CA125)(24.20±5.10)U/ml,carbohydrate antigen 199(CA199)(29.25±6.25)U/ml,serum carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)(10.25±2.35)μg/L of the experimental group were significantly lower than(32.10±7.45)U/ml,(38.76±8.18)U/ml,(15.75±3.68)μg/L of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The implementation of apatinib in combination with chemotherapy is effective for patients with advanced gastric cancer and can promote the improvement of patients'quality of life and the reduction of serum tumor markers,and is recommended for clinical promotion.
