| Abstract: | Intravertebral administration of opioids has become more and more popular in clinical practice for its advantages. New drugs and new administration ways are coming out one after other. However, there are still controversies on the mechanism with that opioid acts on spinal cord, its distribution within epidural or intrathecal space, rostral spread and optimal dose. Liposolubility is the extremely important factor to affect the efficacy of opioids which mostly depends on its biologic nature. However, the effect of opioids may sometimes changes in case of combined administration with local anesthetics, or with the different administration way. |
