| Abstract: | Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of periodontal intervention on serum inflammatory cytokine levels in type 2 diabetic patients with chronic periodontitis.Methods:Databases of Pubmed,Embase,Cochrane library,CBMdisk,VIP and CNKI were searched.The meta-analysis was performed using Revman 5.3.Results:12 RCTs with 1064 cases were identified.After 3 months of periodontal intervention in test group,the levels of CRP,IL-6 and TNF-αwere significantly lower than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Periodontal intervention can decrease inflammatory cytokine levels in type 2 diabetic patients with chronic periodontitis. |
