| Abstract: | A case of hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) in a 3 year old boy, who presented with diffuse rectal bleeding is discussed. On barium enema, there was evidence of acute colitis with submucosal hemorrhage. The probable relationship of these findings to the pathogenetic intravascular coagulopathy and the prodromal stage of HUS is discussed. |
