Operation and management of international medical institutions in a district of Beijing

With the development of China’s socioeconomy and the increasing number of foreigners who tour,work,or settle in China,there is an increasing demand for international medical services.The demand for quality medical services is particularly high in Beijing,Shanghai and Guangzhou with a large population of foreigners.This article analyzes the operation and management of five international medical institutions in a district of Beijing,including the problems and solutions.First,based on the current status of the international medical services and the increasingly optimized facility construction in Beijing,improving the international health care quality should be a priority of their development;second,capacity-building should be carried out by encouraging doctors to shift their positions,strengthening the training of general practitioners in international medical services,and optimizing the approval and registration procedures of foreign doctors;and third,to encourage the involvement of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in international medical services,expand the scope of TCM treatment,and strengthen the training of TCM doctors and the publicity of TCM knowledge and services.
