CLINICAL, HISTOPATHOLOGICAL AND HISTOCHEMICAL FEATURES OF DEGENERATIVE SIALOSIS

Forty-five patients with cnlargement of the parotid or submandibLtlar salivary gland were studiedclinically, histopathologically and histochemically. Itis concluded that there is a kind of salivary glandenlargement which shows the nature of degenerativechanges. Accordingly, the term "degenerative sia-losis" is proposed to replace the confusable term"benign enlargement of salivary gland".
