An Analysis of the Correlation Between TCM Constitution and Migraine

Objective:To explore the correlation between TCM constitution and migraine.Methods:A total of 200 cases of migraine patients in our hospital from April 2017 to April 2019 were selected as the research objects,and they were enrolled into the migraine group.At the same time,200 healthy people without migraine physical examination in our hospital were selected as the control group.The constitutions of the two groups were identified,and the patients in the migraine group were classified by TCM syndrome differentiation.Then the correlation between TCM constitution and migraine was analyzed by Logistic regression.Results:Most of the patients in the migraine group had significant family history of migraine,and the body mass index,uric acid and triglyceride levels in the migraine group were higher than those in the control group and all the differences were statistically significant(P<0.005).The constitution of the migraine group was mainly qi stagnation constitution,while that of control group was peaceful constitution.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.001).The results of multivariate logistic regression showed that compared with mild constitution,there was significant correlation between qi stagnation constitution[OR=11.898,95%CI(4.712,30.044),P<0.001],yin deficiency constitution[OR=8.065,95%CI:3.120-20.849,P<0.001],phlegm dampness constitution[OR=6.440,95%CI(2.226,18.635),P=0.001]and blood stasis constitution[OR=10.303,95%CI(3.908,27.160,P<0.001)and migraine respectively.There was no significant correlation between migraine and dampness heat constitution,special constitution,qi deficiency constitution and yang deficiency constitution and migraine(P<0.001).Conclusion:There is independent positive correlation between qi stagnation constitution,yin deficiency constitution,phlegm dampness constitution and blood stasis constitution with migraine.
