Analysis of depression symptoms status and the related factors in elders in Jining

Objective To study the prevalence and influencing factors of depressive symptoms in elders in Jining.Methods 504 elders（65 year-old and above）as our survey subjects by GDS-15 were randomly sampled.Results The rate of depressive symptoms in elders in Jining was 7.1%,and female＇s 12.4% was higher than male＇s 2.6%（χ2=18.15,P0.001）.There were significant differences about the rate because of the factors of age,single or not,physical exercises,subjective poor health,feeling of lonely,economic and living condition,feeling of lonely,subjective health situation,economic condition and gender was dangerous of depressive symptoms for elders.Conclusion The main factors influencing the elders＇ depressive symptoms were feeling lonely,female,subjective health situation,economic condition and single.
