Analysis of the correlation between depression and dementia in old age by traditional Chinese medicine theory

Dementia and depression are common high incidences in the elderly.According to epidemiological investigations,the prevalence of the two is increasing year by year,and eventually the mortality of the elderly is also increasing,which has a great negative impact on the health and social stability of the elderly.After consulting relevant literatures,it is found that there are certain similarities and correlations between senile dementia and depression from multiple perspectives.Therefore,from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine,this paper will analyze the correlation between the clinical manifestations,common pathogenesis,pathogenesis and clinical treatment of the two,in order to provide a certain theoretical basis of traditional Chinese medicine and better clinical diagnosis and treatment ideas for depression and dementia in old age.
