The Clinical Significance of Serum Anti-HBc-IgA in Patients with Hepatitis B Virus Infection |

| Abstract: | Solid-phase ELISA was established to assay serum anti-HBc-IgA in patients with HBV infection. The tests of repeatability, serum dilution,SPA germs absorption and alpha-ME destruction indicate that the assay is of good sensitivity, specificity and stability. In 154 patients with HBV infection, 78 cases were positive for anti-HBc-IgA; whereas anti-HBc-IgA could not be detected in 96 cases without HBV infection. Comparing to other HBV markers both in sera and in liver tissues the incidence of anti-HBc-IgA was significantly higher in the group positive for HBsAg in liver tissue than in the group negative for what marker) the incidence of anti-HBc-IgA was slightly higher in the group positive for HBcAg in liver tissue and HBV-DNA in serum than in the group negative for those markers. No relationship was seen among HBeAg, anti-HBe and anti-HBc-IgA. The incidence of anti-HBc-IgM and Anti-HBc-IgA was 47.4% and 50.6% respectively, and the identity of both markers was 82.5%. |
